Alternative Ways to Market Your Business

Written by Chloe Harwood

Marketing your business and making sure that your target audience knows what you have to offer is a huge challenge. There are many conventional options that every business owner tries. But if they are not offering you the results you want, maybe it’s time to start looking at the alternative methods.

Podcast

Podcasting is a big thing, and it’s a great way to reach out to a young audience. You don’t have to start your own podcast if you don’t want to. You could simply do some research and find out which podcasts are listened to by the kind of people who you want to convert into customers. You can then pay for an advert on those podcasts. It’s a new and interesting form of advertising, but it can be a great way to engage with people. And you could always start up your own podcast too if you like.

Street Marketing

Getting out on the streets and trying new ways of engaging with people is a great technique. It’s sometimes known as guerilla marketing. And there are many different forms which it can take. If you’re not sure where to start, there are experimental marketing companies that will be able to help you. You could use big eye-catching stunt that people can’t help but notice. Or you could simply try talking to people on a one to one basis in order to inform them about your business.

Write a Book

This might seem like a big step to make for marketing reasons alone. But writing a book gets your name out there, and it helps to identify you as a business owner who knows what he or she is talking about. You could be a real thought leader in your industry. It’s a great way of showing people what you know and what you have to offer. And all those people that take an interest in the book will then take an interest in your business. It’s a long-term approach, but it’s one that pays off.

Get Involved with Charities

Charity work is always a good way to show people that you care about more than simply lining your own pockets. When you get down to work that helps a charitable cause, you show people that your business is a positive influence in the community. This can only be a good thing. It’s a way of changing people’s perceptions of your business for the better. And if it also helps those in need in the process, then that’s even better. It’s the kind of action that everyone can benefit from.

Teach Classes

Teaching a class is another interesting way to show people about your business. Of course, you can’t simply set up a class and then turn it into a sales pitch. That is not what this is all about. Instead, you should take the opportunity to show people that you are someone who knows what you’re doing. You can then sponsor the class so that people know what your business does. It’s a subtle way to show people what your business has to offer without shoving adverts in their face.
