Traveling is one of the biggest adventures you can have in your lifetime, and visiting far off places is the stuff of dreams. However, before you pack a bag and fly away, remember that there are certain things you need to prepare.
Decide On Your Main Luggage
Travelling isn’t just as simple as booking some cheap flights, stuffing your bag full of clothes and jetting off to exotic locations. There are certain things you need to prepare in your luggage for your chosen destination. For example, if you are traveling to somewhere like England, you’ll need to bring clothes which are suitable for the warm or cold weather because England has an unpredictable climate.
The first rule of any explorer is always to be prepared, which is why you need to check the weather forecast for your chosen destination- but also still bring extra clothes just in case you get hit with an unexpected storm. Here is a general list of what you want to pack:
- Underwear for each day PLUS ONE for emergencies
- T-shirts
- Jeans
- Dress/ Shirt for dinner dates
- Shorts
- Vest Tops
- Pyjamas
- Shoes (a nice pair, trainers, walking boots, and wellies)
- A Waterproof Coat
- Jackets and Jumpers
- Swimwear
Organize Your Belongings
Before you dive in and shove everything into one case, make sure to organize and roll up your clothes to save space. Store socks in your shoes, roll up t-shirts and tuck your underwear into small spaces. All of this will give you more space to add your belongings.
Toiletries
Unless you will be staying at a fancy hotel which provides everything for you, you are going to need a few things:
- Toothbrushes and Paste
- Hairbrush and Ties
- Shampoo and Conditioner
- Shower Gel
- Skincare
- Makeup
There are certain things such as a razor which you will be able to buy once you’ve reached your destination. Perfume on duty-free is also usually a great bargain.
Technology
Every traveler should make sure that they have a well kitted out bag with their technology and electronics inside. You’ll need any devices you plan on taking away with you, as well as chargers for those devices, a camera to document your days and maybe a torch if you intend on late night walks in the countryside.
First Aid Kit
The most important thing to keep on you at all times is a small first aid kit. You can stock this up with sterilizing wipes, bandages and bandaids, as well as painkillers in case anyone gets a headache or feels nauseous on the flight. It is advisable to keep this in your hand luggage and that way you’ll have access to it at all times without fail.
Documents, Cash, and Essential Hand Luggage
Before you leave for the airport, the most important thing you can do is to make sure that you have your passport, boarding passes, money and your essentials on your hand luggage. Try writing a checklist the night before and packing everything in advance so that you don’t risk forgetting anything important. Once you’ve made it through the airport with all of your belongings intact, it’s time to board the plan and enjoy your adventure out in the big wide world!
