How to Give Your Bathroom a Spa-Like Touch

Written by Chloe Harwood

There’s nothing I love more than a nice spa style bathroom. They help me to feel so much more relaxed! You can create a spa style bathroom in lots of different ways; the way you use colour, texture, and lighting to name just a few. Here’s my guide on giving your bathroom a spa-like touch:

Use Colour to Create a Mood

Colours can create all kinds of moods. It all depends on the effect you want to go for, but I’m guessing you want your bathroom to feel relaxed and calming. There are lots of neutral colours you can use, but if you want colour, green and blue work well. Subconsciously, colours create a mood in people’s minds. Green and blue are the most relaxing and calming colours. You can still use pattern, but make sure it has a calming effect rather than being too stimulating.

Have Different Kinds of Lighting

Different kinds of lighting is a must for any bathroom. You’ll want task lighting, when you’re doing things like shaving. You’ll also want to be able to dim the lights so you can relax when you want to. Installing a dimmer switch is a good idea!

Include Candles and Incense

Candles and incense will make your bathroom smell amazing. Candles will help to set the mood you want in your bathroom too. Just make sure you don’t leave anything unattended!

Use Natural Materials

Natural materials add to that lovely tranquil effect. Use plenty of bamboo, woods, stone, and anything else that creates that tranquil feeling in your mind. The more texture you use, the more depth you’ll give your bathroom.

Invest in Robes and Towels

Robes and towels will help you to make your bathroom look even more spa-like. You can look for luxury wholesale towels to make sure you have enough and save money at the same time. I love fluffy bathrobes and big fluffy towels. I like to keep the bathrobes hung up, and roll up the towels like they do in spas. It looks so much better than folding them, in my opinion.

Keep it as Clean and Tidy as Possible

No spa is ever untidy or dirty. Keep your bathroom as clean and tidy as possible to give it that spa like feel. Try to make the most of any storage you have, so that the sides aren’t full of all of your products. It should be fairly clean and uncomplicated with little on display. To make my products look even better, I like to make them more uniformed with plain bottles. I label them so I know what’s what if I need to, but it helps to make my bathroom look much less cluttered.

I hope you love these tips and they help you to create a spa-style bathroom. If you need any more inspiration, make sure you take a quick look online for pictures. I like to create Pinterest boards to help me work out what I really want. See you next time!
